Stuffing vs. Dressing: The annual debate

Some say, if it’s cooked inside the turkey it’s “stuffing.” If it’s cooked in a dish, it’s “dressing.”

Although, most people up north refer to it as “stuffing” regardless of how it is prepared. The same holds true for “dressing” in the south. No matter how it is prepared, southerners call it “dressing.”

According to history.com, up until the 1850s, everyone referred to it as “stuffing.”
