1 killed in Montville shed fire


MONTVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) — One person is dead after a small shed caught fire in Montville on Tuesday.

Montville Firefighters responded to a structure fire report at 95 Depot Road around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday. When they got there, they found a small shed fully engulfed in flames. The shed was located behind a home, but the home was not damaged.

When the fire was put out, firefighters searched the shed and found one deceased victim. No one else was reported injured.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death, as well as a positive identity.

State police are assisting the Montville Fire Marshal’s Office with the investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
