OLD LYME, Conn. (WTNH) — A 15-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly sending inappropriate emails from a teachers account.
Police say on September 7 an Old Lyme High School teacher’s email account was accessed and mass emails were sent from it. Ian Nevaiser, the Superintendent of Schools for Region 18, said three different emails were sent out and they tended to be cruder and cruder each time.Original Story: State police investigate crude emails sent from teacher’s account
Nevaiser said he received the first email when he was at a board meeting the night of September 7 and the email system was almost immediately shut down.
The teacher stated she was embarrassed and upset but had no idea who could have done this.
The 15-year-old is being charged with computer crimes in the 5th Degree and Breach of Peace.
