WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) – 27-year-old Pedro Torres and 26-year-old Nicholas Diorio were arrested during a drug transaction in the parking lot of Sylvan Lake Park. Diorio was the passenger in his vehicle.
Residents were reporting complaints of these transactions around town. On April 29th, Torres sold heroin to an undercover detective. He was arrested shortly after. Police found thirty bags of heroin in Torres’ pocket and an additional large bag containing six ounces of pure heroin in his vehicle.
Torres was charged with two counts of sale of a narcotic, possession of a narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was was released on $50,000 bond.
Police say Torres is a convicted felon and recently completed parole for a previous sale of narcotics charge. He is expected back in court on May 12th.
Diorio was in the car with Torres at the time of the arrest. Police found two bags of heroin, two packs of Suboxone, a commonly abused controlled substance and a needle.
Diorio was charged with two counts of possession of a narcotic and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Diorio was released on $5,000 bond. He will be in court on May 12th.
