MORRIS, Conn. (WTNH) — Officials are investigating a collision between two boats on Bantam Lake Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened before 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

News 8’s Bob Wilson reports a couple of teenage lifeguards jumped from their chairs and swam more than a quarter of a mile to rescue the boaters.

Authorities said all 10 passengers were brought to Litchfield Town Beach.

Many of the injuries were minor. One woman was trapped between the boat; she is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

DEEP is currently investigating the accident. They have seized both boats and will be reconstructing the accident to figure out how it happened.
