2 drug possession arrests made in Putnam

Connecticut State Police reported two arrests in Putnam Thursday night around 7:20 p.m.

According to police, Troop D spotted Michael King, 62 of Putnam, on Providence Street near Powhattan Street in what appeared to be a drug deal.

Troopers and parole officers approached King who admitted to having several pieces of crack cocaine. King was then placed under arrest on the charges of possession.

QLTF Troopers called the Putnam Police Department and two officers arrived at the scene to assist with the investigation.

Officials conducted a follow up investigation Powhattan Street in Putnam for Jude “FACE” Abellard, 44 of Putnam, who was one parole. T

he parole officer spotted cocaine, marijuana and over $2,000 in drug money. Abellard was place under arrest for possession charges. 

Both men are to appear in court in November.
