NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) – Two people were seriously injured when their small plane crashed in the woods in North Hampton, New Hampshire, after take-off from Hampton Airfield.
WMUR reports that one person suffered serious burns and was taken by a medical helicopter to a Boston hospital. The other is being treated at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Their names have not been released.
The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday. The Piper PA-28 caught fire after crashing about a quarter mile from the airfield.
North Hampton officials say the two people in the plane were able to get out on their own. The plane crashed in a wooded area off Cedar Road in North Hampton.
The FAA is investigating the crash.
North Hampton is on the New Hampshire seacoast, north of Seabrook.
