3 Wallingford schools delayed after car crash leads to power outages

News

Two Wallingford elementary schools and one middle school had a three hour delay Friday morning due to power outages caused by a car crash

The website for Wallingford Public Schools posted a message on their page informing students, parents and staff that Highland Elementary School, Mary G. Fritz Elementary School and James H. Moran Middle School will all have a three hour delayed opening.

The delay was due to a car crash at the intersection of Church Street (Route 68) and Main Street (Route 50) that took down a utility pole and led to several power outages in the area.

One person was injured in the accident and taken to the hospital where their current condition is unknown.

The road is now open and power is fully restored.
