A $650 million water park resort-spa and sports complex will be built in Palmer.
According to a news release sent to our sister station WWLP, the complex was announced Tuesday and is being planned on 250 acres of land near the Palmer exit of the Mass Pike.
The complex will feature a sports complex, a resort hotel, two indoor water parks, a spa, and an outdoor action river ride.
Additionally the sports resort complex will feature indoor and outdoor sports facilities including an indoor hockey and basketball facility, an indoor sports bubble, a baseball complex, soccer and mixed-used fields, and beach volleyball courts.
Restaurants and on-site townhomes are also planned for the sports resort complex.
Developers believe the location’s close proximity to the Mass Pike, I-84, and I-91 will make it a “convenient destination” and expect it to draw visitors from a 300-mile radius throughout the northeast.
The project will be managed by Skanska USA , who built Gillette Stadium.
