  • Our temperatures will drop through the day today
  • Periods of heavy snow, but also periods of light snow too through the afternoon
  • Roads will get worse towards the afternoon
  • As far as snowfall totals are concerned, a general 3-6 inches of snow. Lower amounts the further west you go and higher amounts the further east you go
  • I think we will end up seeing a lot of towns with 3 inches.
  • I-395 east will see closer to 5 or 6 inches
  • The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Middlesex, Tolland, Windham and New London Counties
  • Winter Weather Advisory issued for Litchfield, Hartford, New Haven and Fairfield
  • We will see light snow showers and flurries through the night too
  • Another concern with this system is the wind. Wind gusts close to 45 mph at times from the NE are certainly possible
  • This means scattered power outages are likely too, especially with the heavy wet snow again
  • With these strong winds and a new moon cycle, tides will also run higher. Roughly 2 to 3 feet higher especially in western CT
  • A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued for Fairfield and New Haven Counties
  • We are also watching the potential for more snow Tuesday into Wednesday as a clipper will pass by
  • A big shot of cold arctic air is also expected towards the end of the work week
