AAA: Crashes spike after daylight saving time ends

A reminder has been issued to be extra careful out on the roads when it gets dark out.

AAA said the number of crashes spikes when daylight saving time ends, especially during rush hour traffic from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

AAA Northeast said during that hour, the number of statewide motor vehicle crashes increases by as much as 45 percent.

AAA also said that crashes involving pedestrians nearly double.
