AARP Connecticut to host live, interactive telephone Town Hall discussion on prescription drugs


AARP Connecticut is calling on lawmakers to help fight the increasing prices of prescription drugs on Thursday. 

They’re hosting a live, telephone town hall conversation with State Senator Matt Lesser and State Rep. Sean Scanlon Thursday to discuss the issue.

The United States has the highest brand-name drug prices in the world and many older residents are concerned about their ability to pay.

In 2017, one medication cost an average of $6,800 for one year.

Anyone can listen live via an online audio feed or on the AARP Connecticut Facebook page where they can submit questions during the call
