Accident and stabbing under investigation in Norwich

News

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)  –  Police responding to a motor vehicle accident in Norwich Tuesday night discovered a stabbing victim from the crashed vehicle and arrested one occupant and are still searching for two others.

Police say 4 people were in the vehicle that crashed near 45 Union Street at 10:39 p. m.  when the stabbing occurred.   The driver, 40 year old Kristopher Goodrow of Niantic, was found a short distance away suffering from two stab wounds to his chest and was eventually taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment.   This morning police arrested 51 year old Cedric Edwards of Norwich, a convicted felon, and charged him with assault first degree, robbery in the first degree, assault in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and reckless endangerment in the first degree.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on the two other men who fled the scene to call them at 860-886-5561.
