CORNELIUS, Ore. (WTNH)– A “fire-tornado” or “firenado” for short was caught on camera Friday afternoon in Oregon.
KIRO reports that just before 2:30 p.m., officials and crews responded to a field fire 25 miles outside of Portland.
The Cornelius Fire Department caught the “firenado” on camera and posted the video to their Facebook page.
How does this happen? Wildfires can sometimes create wind and that can turn into a spinning vortex of flames.
According to reports, there were no injuries and no buildings were damaged. Officials said the fire seemed to be caused by farming equipment that cut the field.
