Humpback whale found washed up in Cape Cod

A 40-ton humpback whale washed up in Cape Cod on Tuesday. 

Researchers say the 45-foot female humpback washed up on East Sandwich Beach. Crews used heavy machinery to pull the whale out of the water and bring it to a nearby beach.

Scientists will perform a necropsy to find out how the whale died.
