Animals from Florence Affected Areas Arrive in East Haven

The East Haven Animal Shelter have welcomed some furry friends from areas affected by Hurricane Florence

At around midnight on Friday, 8 dogs and several cats arrived to the shelter. An East Haven woman drove to South Carolina to pick up the animals. According to a statement released by the group, there are many homeless animals in states affected by Hurricane Florence that need to be rescued.

Some of the animals arriving in East Haven need medical care, and the shelter says they’re going to provide any assistance that they can.

Leaders of the shelter say while they don’t need food or blankets for the animals at this time, they are in need of donations for their medical care.

If you are interested in helping out the shelter, you can mail a check to them at 183 Commerce St, East Haven 06512. Animal Control says they’re trying to setup a PayPal account to make it easier for people to donate, but at this time it is not currently established. You can also visit their Facebook page for more information.
