Police say that at around 3 a.m. on September 1, 2014, a home invasion occurred at a private residence occupied by female college students. During the home invasion, the lone occupant of the home at that time was awakened by the suspect, beaten, sexually assaulted and strangled to the point of unconsciousness.
After an investigation, the suspect was identified as Edibaldo “Eddie” Duran and an arrest warrant was signed.
Police say Duran possibly went by the name Eddie Guerrero. He was described as a 29-year-old Mexican National who was 5’2″, approximately 150-160lbs, and had dark hair, possibly spiky, facial acne, and what the victim described as “grayish eyes”. He also spoke with a slight Spanish accent.
According to police, on September 5th 2014, Duran boarded an AeroMexico flight at JFK and arrived in Mexico City at 5:08 a.m. that same morning.
On Wednesday, the US Marshal Service, District of Connecticut, took Duran into custody in Mexico City where he was extradited under an international extradition to Connecticut.
