Arrest warrant granted for Fairfield woman who allegedly had 5 dead dogs in home

Officials in Fairfield are looking to arrest a woman after five dead dogs were allegedly found in her home.

According to police, on Thursday, an arrest warrant charging 31-year-old Heidi Lueders with five counts of animal cruelty was signed by a Bridgeport Superior Court judge who set the bond at $50,000.

Officers said units were called to the home earlier in November when a landlord discovered the animal carcasses.

Units added that Lueders was involved with an animal rescue agency and that it appeared that the dogs were left abandoned in crates.

Detectives are currently coordinating the terms of her surrender.
