Twenty-six year-old Nathan Rose, of Baltic, was arrested on July 3 by detectives from the Plainfield Police Department Special Investigations Unit after being accused of theft on January 17, 2018.
Rose was accused of stealing firearms and jewelry from 84 Lake Street in Plainfield, along with two other individuals. The location was a residence. Justin Johnson, age 28, is the son of the 84 Lake Street homeowner and was staying temporarily at the house when the theft was reported.
The third individual, Franklin Post, 29, of Bozrah, was arrested on July 5 as he was released from the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center on Uncasville, CT.
Post, Johnson and another individual entered the house at 84 Lake Street on January 24, 2018. The suspects kicked in the door while the victim was at work, when they stole a safe which held a firearm and jewelry. Suspect Johnson fled the state of CT and is believed to be in West Virginia.
Rose was charged with two counts of theft of a firearm, as well as larceny in the fourth degree.
Post was charged with theft of a firearm, burglary, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, and larceny.
Detectives from the Plainfield Police Department were able to recover two of the firearms during the investigation.
Further investigation is still underway. More arrests are pending.
