(WTNH)–It’s Monday, and that means it’s time for our “Ask the Lawyer” segment with New Haven-based attorney Tara Knight. On this edition, we’re talking about jury duty.
When it comes to jury duty, a lot of people look at it like a root canal, but Tara believes that people should look at it differently. We asked her about that, and the following questions:
1. What will judges consider legitimate reasons to get out of jury duty?
2. If you get seated on a murder trial, how many weeks can you expect? How will that affect your income?
3. How rare is it to get seated on a case?
4. What are lawyers looking for in potential jurors?
Check out the video above for much more, and don’t forget to watch News 8 at 5 p.m. every Monday for our “Ask The Lawyer” segment.
