(WTNH)–In this week’s “Ask the Lawyer” segment (which airs on News 8 at 5 p.m.), we spoke with New Haven attorney Tara Knight about renter’s rights, and also the rights of those who serve as landlords.
Knight spoke about the rights renters have to repairs for things like peeling paint, plumbing, electricity, and broken windows. What can you do if these are recurring problems, or if your landlord is not taking care of the problems?
She also discussed what happens in the event of a natural disaster, a break-in, and the reasons you can legally be evicted.
