Athletic director at Norwich Free Academy resigns

The athletic director at Norwich Free Academy has resigned, effective immediately.

Eric Swallow handed in his resignation letter on Monday after being on the job for the past three years.

The news got mixed reaction from students and comes about two weeks after Norwich police began an investigation into alleged sexual assaults by an NFA staff member who was then terminated right away.

“A lot of people thought about that and they didn’t really want to think about it and make assumptions about it but a lot of people did think that was related to that,” explained junior Marianna Ayala.

In a statement, the school says NFA’s athletic office will be managed by other faculty members and the adjustments will not impact the fall sports season.
