HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Safety is an issue at the top of the minds of parents and college students as the new academic school year begins.

Quinnipiac University Public Safety Chief Tony Reyes sat down with News 8 on Monday to discuss public safety tips all students should know before heading on campus.

Reyes said students should be aware of the resources offered at their college campuses including wellness programs, safety escorts and alert systems.
