HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A Waterbury man is facing charges after police say he threatened a woman with a gun, with two children inside his car.
Hamden Police arrested 25-year-old Jerome Rumley Sunday night after receiving a report of “threatening” in the area of State Street and Farm Road. According to the report, Rumley approached a woman’s vehicle and pointed a gun at her, before fleeing northbound on State Street.
Shortly after, officers located Rumley leaving a North Haven Package Store. During a vehicle search, police found a .177 caliber steel ball airsoft revolver. Two minors were inside the car at the time, ages 2 and 7.
Rumley is charged with illegal use of a facsimile firearm, risk of injury to a minor and breach of peace. He is being detained on $500 bond, and is scheduled to appear in a Meriden court on March 5.
