NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)-An OSHA investigation found unsafe working conditions at Beacon Industries, a manufacturing plant in Newington. OSHA found employees at the plant were exposed to dangers that could cause cuts, crushing injuries, electrocution and amputation. OSHA also says the employees weren’t trained well enough and didn’t have protective equipment. In all, Beacon was slapped with 18 serious violations of workplace safety standards and a $71,10 fine.
Beacon Industries has 15 business days to pay up, meet with OSHA’a area director, or contest the findings.
