Bidding opens for Hartford’s XL Center


Want to buy an aging sports arena?

Bidding is now open for the XL Center in downtown Hartford.

According to The Hartford Courant (, the Capitol Region Development Authority has received multiple bids, but any proposals will probably need the state to participate.

Last year, Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy proposed spending $250 million to upgrade the XL Center, but that was unsuccessful.
