Blumenthal, Murphy send letter over concerns with protection for breastfeeding


U.S. Senators are looking for answers following some controversy between the Trump administration and World Health Assembly over breastfeeding.

This comes after the New York Times reported ( that the United States went against the organization’s resolution that supports breastfeeding.

Senator Chris Murphy and 21 other senators sent a letter on Thursday to U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

The senators expressed their concern over reports that the U.S. removed language protecting and supporting breastfeeding.

Senator Richard Blumenthal also signed the letter.
