Blumenthal to Amtrak: Step up and end intolerable delays, overcrowding for CT commuters

U.S Senator Richard Blumenthal and Connecticut commuters will be calling on Amtrak to address problems on the Shore Line East and Hartford rail lines at on Friday, November 9th at 11 a.m. at New Haven Union Station

Blumenthal will release a letter to Amtrak leadership demanding evidence of a plan to work with the Connecticut Department of Transportation to find immediate and long-term solutions to end the overcrowding and ensure access to reliable, timely rail service for the commuters who rely on these trains. 

Shore Line East commuters have been complaining for months about delays with the Hartford Line commuters reporting major overcrowding, where riders were kicked off overcrowded Amtrak trains. 

Blumenthal is asking Amtrak to step up and end intolerable delays and overcrowding trains for Connecticut commuters.
