Body of missing Vernon man pulled from lake

Police have confirmed Wednesday that a body pulled from a lake on Tuesday is a missing Vernon man. 

Police say that 43-year-old Nashawn Harvey was pulled from Tankerhoosen Lake in Vernon on Tuesday. He had been reported missing on Sunday after he reportedly took his dog for a walk. His dog returned home but Harvey did not.

Authorities searched on land and in nearby bodies of water. A police dive team found Harvey’s body in Tankerhoosen Lake. 

The cause of Harvey’s death is unknown at this time but the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy for Wednesday.

The incident remains under investigation. Police do not suspect foul play.
