Body pulled from Griswold pond where snowmobiler went missing

GRISWOLD, Conn. (WTNH)–A body has been recovered from the pond where a snowmobiler went missing in December, according to officials with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

Police have not yet identified the body.

56-year-old John Dubois went missing while snowmobiling in the area on December 18. Authorities have been searching for him since then, but have called off searches on multiple occasions. A search for his body was suspended there on January 9 due to low visibility in the water.

Dubois lived in a nearby neighborhood right on the pond.Related: Search suspended for missing Griswold snowmobiler due to low visibility
