Bomb threat forces early dismissal of Hamden High School


HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A bomb threat led to the evacuation and early dismissal for students at Hamden High School Monday.

Police were called to the scene at 10:15 a.m. Monday morning. The school building was evacuated ,and two bomb-sniffing canines from the New Haven Police Department arrived to assist in the search of the building. There is a preschool inside the high school that was also dismissed.

School buses arrived just before noon to take students home.

The Superintendent says the high school will reopen Tuesday.

Hamden police are still investigating the threat. If you have any information that could help officers in their investigation, you’re asked to call Hamden police at 203-230-4000.
