Volunteers at the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter in Branford are looking for the public’s help after a box full of donated gift cards and other items was taken from a worker’s home.

Shelter volunteers say a woman collected gift cards and other items from local businesses for a raffle basket.

On Monday, she left the box outside of her door on Hopson Avenue for one of the staff members to pick up, but it was stolen.

The shelter said the money raised by the raffle box is used to save animals’ lives.

Whoever took the box is asked to return it.
