Boys & Girls Club getting makeover

News

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The New Haven Boys and Girls Club is getting a makeover.

Lowe’s Home Improvement is donating $50,000 to one Boys and Girls Club in every state. Volunteers from local Lowe’s stores have been helping out with the project, refinishing the driveway, mulching and other things to make the outside of the club look nicer.

“In addition to the beautification project, they’re also assisting us in renovating our learning center. We plan to add a theater center, a study center, a brand new 65-inch TV which we’re excited about, but also, encourage more teens to come into that facility,” said Director of Operations of the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven Carlos Collazo.

They hope more teens join to work with tutors and give back to the younger kids.
