Bridgeport students rally for safer travel routes to get to school

Students in Bridgeport will be fighting for a safer travel routes to get to school.

Students are setting up a rally for safer walking routes and bus passes to be included in the Bridgeport Master Plan.

On Monday night, students will be rallying outside the Bridgeport Planning and Zoning Commission in support of their ‘Walking Towards A Brighter Future’ campaign.

For over a year, Bridgeport youth have been working to have the Master Plan of Conservation and Development for Bridgeport to priortize safe walking routes to school for students. 

The rally is set for 5:45 p.m. on Monday at the Bridgeport City Council Chambers on Lyon Terrace in Bridgeport.
