Arrest made in Bristol hit-and-run

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — Bristol Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Jerome Avenue, in the area of Swanson Drive.

According to police, the incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday for a crash involving a pedestrian walking a dog.

The road has since reopened.

A investigation lead to the arrest of 22-year-old Clayton Nogiec, who had been traveling on Jerome Avenue in a Nissan Rogue vehicle and allegedly struck the a man with his car then fled the scene.

Nogiec was charged with assault, driving under the influence, among other charges. He was held on a $25,000 bond for an appearance in court.

The victim is in treatment with serious injuries and the dog was taken to a local veterinary hospital for treatment as well.
