Bus catches fire at North Haven gas station


NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– A Quinnipiac bus caught fire and pulled into a gas station in North Haven Wednesday afternoon.

The North Haven fire department confirms to News 8 that there is a fire at the Sunoco gas station as 23 Universal Drive.

News 8 received a Report It video of the bus engulfed in flames, stopped at the gas station.

Police tell News 8’s Jacquie Slater that the bus caught fire on I-91 Southbound. It exited the highway at exit 9 and pulled into the gas station.

A Sunoco gas station attendant tells News 8 two women were on the bus and both were able to escape. The bus came within three to four feet of the main pump.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is also unknown.News 8 is gathering more information. Check back for updates.
