Car accident claims Canterbury man’s life

HAMPTON, Conn. (WTNH)- A two car accident on Route 6 in Hampton has taken the life of a 74 year old man from Canterbury. State police say Charles Thurlow, who was initially treated at Windham hospital, died of his injuries after being taken by an air ambulance to Hartford Hospital.

74 year old Matilda Thurlow and the driver in the other car, 40 year old Michael Kozyra, both suffered injuries that are not considered to be life threatening.

According to police, the collision happened shortly before four o’clock Thursday afternoon on Route 6 and the intersection of Route 97. The events leading up to the accident remain under investigation according to state police.
