MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman died in a two-car crash early Sunday morning on Main Street in Meriden.

Officers said that around 3:30 a.m., two white Toyota Acuras were traveling westbound on Main Street when 53-year-old Denisse Acosta attempted to turn left into a driveway in the 100 block of Main Street.

The other Acura, driven by a 31-year-old man from Meriden, came up behind the Acosta, striking the driver’s side door, police said.

She was taken to a hospital, where police said she was pronounced.

Police said Acosta was trapped in her vehicle, and the Meriden Fire Department had to extricate her. She was taken to a hospital, where police said she later died of injuries.

The other driver was not injured.

No charges have been filed.
