Cheshire football off to perfect start, though schedule gets tough soon

News

(WTNH)–The Cheshire High School football team is off to a perfect 3-0 start. The Rams have earned wins over North Haven, Amity and Sheehan so far. The schedule gets tough in the next few weeks, though, as they’ve got games against West Haven, Xavier and Fairfield Prep. But that’s life in the Southern Connecticut Conference.

Head coach Don Drust is now in his fifth year with Cheshire. He likes the way his team is playing, but the Rams certainly aren’t satisfied.

“Every day, they’re working really hard, and they’ve really come together as a group so far through the first couple weeks,” said head coach Don Drust.

Cheshire visits 5th-ranked West Haven on Friday.
