Clinton businesses receive fake phone calls pretending to be Clinton Police K9 Unit

Multiple business informed Clinton Police they received phone calls from a caller claiming to be with the Clinton Police K9 Unit.

The affected businesses told police they received calls from an unknown, blocked number.

The scam callers allegedly attempted to solicit funds from the businesses.

Officers with the Clinton Police Department want everyone to know these calls are a scam.

The Clinton Police Department says it does not actively solicit funds for any of their associate programs directly over the phone.
