“Elections offer a snapshot of the collective character as a state or nation. It’s our opportunity to affirm who we are and what we value. And today, Connecticut spoke loud and clear that we stand for fairness, inclusivity, and decency. That the politics of President Trump have no home here. That we resoundingly reject his politics of divisions, falsehoods, and empty promises. I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Governor-elect Ned Lamont and Lieutenant Governor-elect Susan Bysiewicz, Unquestionably, Connecticut has forward momentum, and of all the candidates on the ballot for these offices, they are by far, the best suited to keep the state moving in the right direction. Under their leadership, Connecticut’s future remains bright. Running for office is not easy and it takes a physical and mental toll on a person and their family. I commend all the candidates this year-up and down the ticket- who ran because they wanted to make a difference. I also want to thank every voter who cast a ballot in this election. We are stronger when more people make their voices heard.” – Governor Dannel Malloy

Ned and Susan ran a competitive campaign, and I wish them both the best of luck leading our state forward. We face difficult challenges ahead, but I know that together we can overcome them and that Connecticut’s best days are ahead of us.” – Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman

U.S Senator Chris Murphy, who won re-election on Tuesday, offered his congratulations to Lamont and Bysiewicz.
“I couldn’t be prouder to have Ned Lamont and Susan Bysiewicz as our next governor. From the very beginning, Ned outlined a positive vision to grow jobs in Connecticut and make sure our state is a place where our kids want to stay and raise their families. People were fired up and sent a clear message that they want Ned and the General Assembly in Hartford to be a firewall against President Trump’s divisive policies. I’m looking forward to working closely with Ned and Susan to move our state forward.”
