Connecticut woman charged with murder in death of father

A Connecticut woman is heading to court to face a murder charge in the death of her father.

Police say 24-year-old Jessica Keene is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Michael Keene, who was found in his Windsor Locks apartment last Tuesday with stab wounds to the neck and torso.

He had been reported missing on Thanksgiving but had not been seen since Nov. 11.

Police responded to the apartment after a neighbor called to report an odor.

Jessica Keene was arrested Friday and held over the weekend on $1 million bond. Police did not disclose a possible motive. Her case was not listed in online court records and it could not immediately be determined if she has a lawyer.

According to police, Keene said it was an accident and she was trying to defend herself. She says they got into an argument the day before she gave birth.
