The American Red Cross is holding hurricane exercises and workshops on Friday to better prepare volunteers for potentially dangerous storms.
Ahead of hurricane season, which is set to begin Saturday, the three-day conference will offer sessions to Red Cross volunteers.
Of course, those volunteers respond to disasters in Connecticut and across the nation.
The Red Cross also offers ways to prepare if dangerous storms were to come: First, determine your risk. Second, talk with people in your house to create an evacuation plan. Lastly, build an emergency kit with water, food, flashlights and first aid supplies.
