Officials: CT man who killed wife dies in prison

(WTNH) - A Connecticut man spending time behind bars for killing his wife died in prison back in December.

On Thursday, officials announced that Scott Gellatly had died on Dec. 21st, 2018.

In 2015, Gellatly was sentenced to 45 years in prison after he fatally shot his estranged wife, Lori, and injured his mother-in-law the previous year.

Officials said Lori had obtained a restraining order against Scott, saying he was mentally ill and violent.

Gellatly had then fled, prompting a widespread search before being caught.

The cause of his death has not been released at this time.
