DEEP awards $150K in grant money for recycling programs

Conn. (WTNH) — The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has awarded more than $150,000 in grants for towns and cities to boost recycling programs.

The program supports waste reduction and refuse in addition to recycling and composting efforts.

It funded more than a dozen projects like Haven’s Harvest Food Recovery Program, expanding West Haven’s composting program and a pilot composting program in Hartford.
