(WTNH) — The DMV has canceled emissions tests Friday and Saturday because of technical issues.
Officials say the inspection company behind the tests is unable to get them done because of a system outage. It’s part of a nationwide outage that is being worked on right now.
The inspection company behind the tests says it detected and stopped a malware attack on Tuesday, which has left them unable to get the tests done, as they work to fix the problem.
The DMV has asked police for their cooperation to not cite those with an expired emissions test during this outage.
On Wednesday, the DMV said they are still dealing with an outage of its emissions system. Officials saying that the testing requirement has been adjusted to allow drivers to register their vehicle regardless of their emissions test status.
It’s unclear when that system will be back online.
