Eversource plans to invest $83 million for tree trimming across the state this year

(WTNH) — Eversource is investing $83 million for tree trimming and removal in Connecticut this year.

The utility company says dead and dying trees continue to plague communities across the state and threaten the reliability of service.

Tree removal will take place along more than 4,200 miles across the state.

Gypsy moth and emerald ash borer infestations are to blame for a lot of the weakened trees.
