100,000 signatures on No Tolls CT petition delivered to Gov. Lamont

A grass roots group that is trying to prevent tolls from coming to our state made a special delivery to the Capitol Thursday.

“No Tolls CT” brought a stack of petitions to the governor’s office late Thursday morning. They contain more than 100,000 signatures from people around the state who are against tolls.

The group says it’s just another tax that the people of Connecticut can’t afford.

“And we are hoping the governor, as well as lawmakers, finally listen to the taxpayers of Connecticut and understand that tolls are not the answer to fixing Connecticut’s problems,” said Patrick Sasser, Founder of “No Tolls CT.”

“No Tolls CT” plans to hold a rally at the Capitol on May 18th at noon.

The governor says the money from the tolls would be used for highway projects and to help fix the state’s crumbling infrastructure.
