BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Bridgeport police made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a Shelton man that occurred earlier this month.
On June 16, the Bridgeport Police Department responded to the PT Barnum Housing Complex on reports of multiple shots fired near buildings 10 and 11 around 8:30 p.m.
At the scene, officers located a man laying on the ground near building 11 suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was identified as 22-year-old Kyle Dear from Shelton. Dear was pronounced dead at the scene.
19-year-old Amheir Noel was arrested by the Bridgeport Gang Task Force on unrelated charges in the town of Milford on Wednesday. During a post-arrest interview, Noel admitted to shooting Kyle Dear.
According to police, Noel said the murder was in response to Dear’s friend’s robbing and pistol-whipping him.
