25-year-old tree worker in critical condition after electric shock in Wilton

A tree worker is in critical condition after being shocked by electricity while working in Wilton on Wednesday.

Police say that at 6:38 p.m., officers responded to 55 Ruscoe Road for a 25-year-old man who was unresponsive after being shocked while working with a tree crew from M. Lato Tree Company.

A preliminary investigation later revealed that the boom on the truck had come in contact with the power lines, which ran down the driveway to energize the truck. The victim was working on the ground when he went to open the door of the truck and was shocked.

The man was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he remains in critical condition with life threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by Wilton police and OSHA
